HT Fireboard in a Summer Cooking Area: Plan the Shield

Vitcas HT Fireboard for suitable protective surfaces

A small board placed next to the cooking device does not yet define the parameters of the entire shield. The substrate, mounting method, and equipment requirements also matter. In a summer house or gazebo, start with this data before cutting HT Fireboard to the available space.

Establish the purpose of the surface

Vitcas HT Fireboard is a heat-resistant board for the described applications, including enclosures for heating devices. Its properties differ from those of ordinary gypsum board. However, the product's temperature is not automatically the allowable temperature for materials behind it.

Read the device requirements regarding installation, openings, and clearances. In the case of portable equipment, also check the permitted place of use. The thermal shield does not convert an outdoor device into equipment for indoor use.

Draw a cross-section and mounting

Show the board, wall material, and the intended connection. Do not base the entire solution solely on placing the sheet against the wood. Installation should follow the documentation applicable to the specific function and device.

HB60 adhesive can be considered in the described panel connections with the appropriate substrate. The choice of glue does not replace the assessment of weight, fastenings, and working conditions. Check access to corners and the possibility of later inspection.

Fit before finishing

Mark the edges of the cover, places for placing vessels, and tool work paths. The finish should not cover the required holes or hinder operation. Also inspect the joints where moisture may appear.

Keep the product description and execution drawing. After preparing the layout, check the state of fastening cold. If conditions require a different cross-section or larger protective surface, modify the design; an additional small piece of the panel alone does not independently confirm the effectiveness of the entire cover.
